Baptism is the Sacrament which marks the beginning of a person's faith journey. It is a most significant event as we name, celebrate and welcome a new member of our community of faith. Our preparation program includes an evening session for parents, and of course godparents are welcome too. Parents must attend a Baptism
Preparation Program prior to the Baptism.
To Register we request that parents attend one of our masses during the weekend and say hello to our Parish Priest Fr. Mirek Knap CR mention to him that you would like to have your child baptised at St Joseph’s. At this time you will be given the opportunity to register for the Baptism Preparation Program.
Baptism Preparation Program are held the first Sunday of the month. At 10:00am in the church. Please register to attend the program as referred to above.
The Welcome Rite is celebrated on the second Sunday of the month . Parents with their child are requested to attend one of the masses on the weekend and they are welcomed into the community in addition they are presented with the baptism candle.
Baptisms are celebrated on the third and fourth Sunday of the month at St Joseph’s on the Sunday at midday after the 11am mass.
The office will make all possible attempts to accommodate the Sunday morning of choice but are limited to a maximum of five children per weekend. Therefore the more notice you give, the more likely you are to get the weekend of your choice.
