Welcome from the Parish Priest

A Parish is a community of believers and a spiritual family that is supportive and loving. It can be a place to grow spiritually, to put your faith in action, and to use our gifts of time and talent as disciples of Christ. Our Parish of Corio/ Lara strives to be a welcoming community that lives the Good News of the Gospel in its actions and programs. We look forward to serve you and to nourish your spiritual and personal development.

We have two churches St. Francis Xavier at Corio and St. Anthony of Padua at Lara. Whether you are looking for a new parish home, just visiting us for a short time, returning to the practice of your Catholic faith or are just wanting to find out more about the Catholic Church, we are confident that you will find our Parish as an inspirational place where you can enrich your Catholic faith.

We do have two primary schools who are proud communities of faith providing quality education to meet developing needs to our children. While enrolling your child with our school, you also take on a partnership with the parish. We are here to support you and your children. At the same time, we seek your engagement and support.

Through our Parish we also have the opportunity to grow spiritually and put our faith into action through giving some of our gifts of time and talents. We hope you will share your time and talents with us, your Parish family, friends and community by participating in our various ministries, social services, activities and spiritual experiences.  There is a wide range of activities described in our Parish website, through which you may be able to do this. The opportunity is there for you to enrich your spiritual life in a practical way and to also increase your sense of belonging to our community.

If there is anything we can do to help you in your journey with God, please do not hesitate to contact me, our parish team or ministry leaders. You can find many of our contacts on our website or ask our parish office for assistance. Our parish seeks to offer as many opportunities for parishioners to come together in faith as possible. If there is a personal or family need that arises, please know that our parish is always available to assist you in any way we can.

The Mass times, location, information about Sacraments, church activities, weekly bulletins and other information about our Parish churches are available on our Parish website. Hopefully, you will find the information provided on this website both informative and helpful. If you would like further information or need to follow up on anything, please feel free to contact the Parish office staff.

I Pray that you will find experience with us both spiritually and life rewarding.

May God Bless you and your family

Fr. Pius Kodakkathanath. V.C.
