Parish Groups

Parish Administration

Parish Pastoral Council
Provides counsel to the Parish Priest in his role as leader of our parish. They also consider suggestions from parishioners, and propose and develop pastoral activities for our parish.
School Advisory Council
Provides advice and support to the Parish Priest and Principal concerning matters related to adult education, catechesis, and school activities.
Finance Committee
Provides advice to the Parish Priest concerning the finances, budgets and plans of the parish.
Parish Safeguarding Committee
The Parish Safeguarding Committee is comprised of Parish Priest and four members.
 

Faith Development

RCIA
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process through which adults and children of catechetical age are welcomed into the life of the Church. The RCIA process takes place within our parish community in a relaxed and supportive environment. This allows the candidate to share in the life of the Church as expressed by the faith community at St Gregory’s.
Sacramental Program for Children
Each year St Gregory’s offers sacramental catechesis classes for Catholic children who do not attend a Catholic school. Classes are held for each of the three sacraments of Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation.

Mediation Group
St Gregory the Great, Christian Meditation Group meets each Wednesday
at 9.45am and 7.30pm in the narthex of the church. All Christians are welcome.
Children's Liturgy
Is held during Sunday 10.30am Mass during school term time.
Baptism Preparation
Preparation classes are held on the second Tuesday of the month from 11.00am to 12.00pm.
 

Parish Outreach

Social Justice Group
St Gregory's Social Justice Group responds to needs in the community working with other organisations. Occasional fundraising activities are undertaken.
St Vincent De Paul
Our conference helps local needy families on the basis of their need in the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul in the World-wide Society founded by Frederick Ozanam for lay people to grow in their faith through practical charity.
Young Vinnies
For young adults to be part of the Vinnies family. Activities including tutoring for refugee students, holiday camps and outings for children.
Bereavement Group
We aim to be a source of nurturing through your journey of grief and give you comfort and hope. Meetings are held regularly throughout the year.
Communion in the Home
Holy Communion is brought to the homes of sick and elderly parishioners by dedicated team who are blessed at the end of 9.00am Mass each Sunday.
Piety Store
A dedicated team provide items of devotion and education to parishioners after three of our weekend Masses
 

Parish Ministries

Morning Tea Ministry
Provide a service enabling parishioners to enjoy each other’s company after 10.30am Mass each week.
Music Ministry
9.00am Cantor and Organist, 10.30am Choir and accompanist, 5.00pm Organist. At each of these Masses, parishioners are lead in their praise of God through music. At 6.00pm Mass there is recorded music.
Ministers of the Word
Our Minister's of the Word proclaim the first and second readings during the Liturgy of the Word. Training is available on request.
Ministers of the Eucharist
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist the priest in distributing Communion to the Parish community during Mass. Training is provided on request.
Altar Servers
Children who have received their first Eucharist are able to become altar servers. Children receive training and are mentored in their role.
Counters
Undertake the valuable ministry of counting the funds that are collected on a weekly basis. Counters work in pairs and are rostered on every couple of months.
 

Social Activities

Ladies Social Group
Activities vary from month to month. The gatherings are held on the third Tuesday of the month from 10.30am till 12.30pm in the Parish Meeting Room.
Movie Club
Join us on the first Thursday of the month for new releases and old favourite. Yearly subscription is $14.00 paid annually. Our movies are held in air conditioned comfort with subtitles for those with a hearing impairment.
Tennis Club
The parish Tennis Club provides an opportunity for everyone to enjoy exercise and gain skills. Lessons are available.
St Gregory's Playgroup
St Gregory the Great Playgroup is suitable for ages 1 to 5 years and is led by parents. It offers an opportunity for parents to meet in an informal setting and for young children to play and interact with others.
Playgroup is on Monday from 9am to 10am during the school term.
Young Adult Group
If you are aged between 19 and 30 we welcome you to join us for a meal and conversation on the first Wednesday of the month 7pm-9pm in the Parish Room in the Hall.
