The Bereavement Support Group provides comfort and solace during the complicated and painful grieving process.

Church and Grounds Care and Maintenance

Parish Maintenance
The Finance Committee has responsibility for ensuring the our buildings are well maintained. Fr John would like some volunteers to assist him in maintaining the gardens.

Our Parish participates in the Combined Parishes Car Raffle and this is our main fundraiser each year.

Parish Ministries

Family Ministry
The Family Ministry is a vital part of parish life. It provides support for all parish family groups and its activities are seen as a means of reaching out within the parish and beyond to all family members.
Recreation Ministry
The Recreation Ministry itself runs a couple of major social events each year. However, most social activities are arranged by individual groups that are largely self-motivated and self-running and involve countless volunteer enthusiasts.
Parish Pastoral Leadership Team
The Parish Pastoral Leadership Team gives support and advice to Fr John and implements programs to help Parishioners grow in their love of God. The members are: Tina Giacco (Chairperson),Jan Richards, Maureen McKenzie, and Margaret Law..
Fair Trade
We sell Tradewinds products on the 3rd Sunday each month in the Meeting Room after Mass. The tea (bags and loose) comes from Sri Lanka. The coffee (beans and ground) comes from East Timor and the instant coffee comes from Columbia. Payments are made direct to the growers - no middlemen!
Mothers Prayers
Mothers Prayers Meetings are held on Wednesday Mornings from 10am to 11.30am. Mothers, Grandmothers and Spiritual Mothers gather to pray for their children, grandchildren and children of the world. Contact Jan Richards on 9560 4368
Prayer Rug Ministry
People gather on the third Monday of the month from 1.30-3pm in the Yarn for knitting, fellowship and a cuppa. They are creating rugs and shawls which will be given to the sick and bereaved. Contact Jenny Hagan 9560 6445 or Jan Richards 9560 4368.

Social Activities

Friendship Club
The Friendship Club is a Long-standing social group for women which meets on the 1st Monday of the month in the Parish Community Centre. Meetings include interesting speakers and afternoon tea.
Outings throughout the year include monthly Sunday lunches, cinema movie and luncheon packages, theatre packages, day coach trips and an annual 4-5 days getaway holiday. A special event is the Annual Fashion Parade.
New members are warmly welcomed.
Men’s Club
The Men’s Club meets monthly in the Yarn on the second and fourth Mondays. Meetings include a pleasant lunch and occasional guest speakers and are preceded by games of carpet bowls, table tennis and pool.
Outings include trips to country race meetings, walks, card nights and theatre nights. New members are assured of a warm welcome, good company and a friendly atmosphere.
St. Leonard’s Netball Club
St. Leonard’s Netball Club has approximately 110 girls playing consisting of ten teams at JellsPark each Saturday from mid March to mid December. Teams range from U11 to open age and 4 teams playing mid week. Some of the St. Leonard’s girls have been selected for Waverley City representative teams.
St. Leonard’s Social Golf Club
St. Leonard’s Social Golf Club plays monthly with fixtures held at a variety of courses, including Churchill Park, Malvern Valley, Glen Waverley, and more. The club’s annual Murray River Classic weekend is a highlight.
We have a wide selection of recent and donated books on prayer and meditation, family and social issues, scripture and sacraments, history and theology, general matters and a children's section. Books may be taken for a month or more from the Library after Sunday Masses or from the stand in "The Yarn" at any time.
