Welcome to our Parish of St Thomas More Hadfield

We are a Christ-centred community made up of many nationalities with the same belief, where the word of God and the sacraments of God are central.  We believe that every person of whatever age, culture and way of life has worth and dignity as a person of God's creation and this helps us to follow the great commandment that Jesus gave us...

"Love one another as I have loved You".

Parish Prayer

God our Father,

Bless this parish of St Thomas More, so that we may love you more.

Help the parents to be a good example to the children,

and our youth to grow in strength as good Christians.

Encircle our families with your loving care,

to the sick grant health,

to the aged bring serenity,

and to those in sorrow, joy.

May we grow stronger in faith,

and may our love for one another become

deeper in our daily living.

The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

(Holy Day of Obligation)

Monday 15 August

Mass at STM at 9.00am or Mass at Corpus Christi at 6.30pm

The Feast of the Assumption is one of the most important feasts of our Lady. We believe in the Assumption of the Virgin Mary into Heaven. We believe that when her earthly life was finished, Mary was taken up, body and soul, into Heavenly glory, where the Lord exalted her as Queen of Heaven.

(Catechism of the Catholic Church, # 966).
