Baptism Policy

Baptisms are available at each of the weekend masses [Sat 6pm, Sun 9am & 11am]

Private baptisms are also available

 Requirements:

  • Baptism bookings are for children up to the age of five (If your child is over the age of five, and attends a Parish School [SPJE or SR] they need to contact the RE Coordinator at their respective school.     

  • At least two [2] months’ notice is required.

  • Either one or both parents must be Catholic and live within the parish boundary.

  • A Baptism certificate or a letter from the Parish Priest where you were baptised, must be provided.

  • One Godparent must be a Confirmed Catholic, minimum 16 years of age.

  • An administration fee applies, payable at time of booking, by cash, debit card or credit card

  • Families are asked to call the parish office to book a date, and pay the administration fee.

  • No Baptism date will be confirmed until a booking and payment is made to the parish office.              

  • Once a suitable date is booked, one or both parents and at least one godparent will be required to attend a Baptism Preparation Meeting prior to the Baptism date. Preparation meetings are held on a weekday evening, either in person or using Zoom

  • Families are expected to present their child at a Welcome Mass two [2] weeks prior to the baptism.

Child Safeguarding Policies

 

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECKS

All parish volunteers must hold a current Working With Children Card.

Those volunteers who already have a card are asked to come to the office to have the details recorded.

Holders are also required to add St Peter Julian Eymard Parish to their WWCC profile.

Those that don’t have a card need to apply for one either online or at the post office.
