BAPTISMS

 

Baptisms are celebrated during Mass on set dates once a month.
All baptisms take place at St Peter Julian Eymard Church, Mooroolbark.
Please phone the parish office on 9723 4275 to confirm availability on these dates.

 

Baptisms can be celebrated at Masses on weekends other than those listed below, subject to the agreement of the parish priest

Private baptisms are also available.

Times:
• 6.00pm Saturday
• 9.00am Sunday
• 11.00am Sunday

Requirements:

  • At least two [2] months notice is required.
  • Either one or both parents must be Catholic and live within the parish boundary.
  • A Baptism certificate or a letter from the Parish Priest where you were baptised, must be provided.
  • Parish policy when choosing Godparents requires that at least one Godparent must be a Confirmed Catholic, and minimum 16 years of age.
  • An administration fee applies.
  • Families are asked to call into the parish office to book a date, and pay the administration fee.
  • No Baptism date will be confirmed until a booking & payment is made in person at the parish office.
  • Once a suitable date is booked, one or both parents and at least one godparent will be required to attend a Baptism Preparation Meeting prior to the Baptism date. Preparation meetings are held on a weekday evening
  • Families are expected to present their child at a Welcome Mass two [2] weeks prior to the baptism.

PARISH CHILD SAFETY

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECKS

All parish volunteers are expected to hold a Working With Children Card.

Those volunteers who already have a card are asked to come to the office to have the details recorded.

Those that don’t have a card need to apply for one either online or at the post office.
