The Parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Ringwood is committed to the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of all children and vulnerable adults.

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri People as the traditional custodians of this land and pay respects to their Elders. We acknowledge that this land continues to be sacred to them.

Supporting Your Parish

When the first round of restrictions were imposed in March 2020 there were significant reductions in giving to the parish collections. Thanks to all who have honoured their pledges in the stewardship program, and especially to those who have moved to direct giving.

While the situation is improved the parish still has major financial commitments. There is a loan to repay, day-to-day expenses for the building, and diocesan quota. Some of these commitments have been frozen for six months, and resumption of payments will be due before the end of the year.

Please consider your ability to help keep the parish open and viable. There are two collections that call for your support:

  • The Church collection covers all expenses relating to the local presence. This includes utility bills, insurance premiums, payment of parish office staff, diocesan quota, loan repayments, and cleaning expenses. Special equipment will be required when Masses and sacraments resume. For example, sanitiser stations are required to meet diocesan requirements on communion procedure, and a sneeze guard must be installed in the confessional.
  • The Presbytery collection sustains the ministry of Fr Tony as parish priest. This includes his stipend, household and car expenses, payment of Cathedraticum (the tax on presbytery collections that supports the Archbishop), and support for the Priests Retirement Fund.

Mass and Staying In Touch through the Roadmap

When can I come to Mass?

It is unclear when public masses will resume. The Archdiocese issues regular updates to their guidelines as changes in restrictions are announced. When we receive new guidelines we notify parishioners by email about what the procedures will be for attending services in the church.

Fr Tony is celebrating Mass on Sundays and Tuesday to Saturday. These services are live-streamed on our Facebook page, and the video is also uploaded on Youtube afterwards.

Everyone is welcome to join for these services.

How can I stay updated?

We send an email update from the parish every Friday. To make sure you're up-to-date, please join our mailing list.

So, is anything happening in the parish?

Yes. Regular meetings have been moved to Zoom:

  • Lectio Divina is meeting every couple of weeks, on Monday night and Tuesday Morning. This is a beautiful way to share a prayerful approach to scripture, and you can find details and links through the events tab on our Facebook page.
  • Little Rock Scripture Study is in season, and meeting on Zoom.
  • Committees and administrative groups are meeting regularly. Dates and times are listed in the weekly parish update.
