The Children's Ministry of St Justin's Parish Wheelers Hill
We are very excited to announce the start of a new Children’s Ministry in our parish this year!
What is the Children's Ministry?
The Children's Ministry is a journey for children to connect with Jesus.
The connection is strengthened when children experience the glory and wonder of God in a simplified way that relates to them.
This will stay with them as they grow up to become youth and adults that are able to share that joy and love with others around them.
This will also be a boost for parents to assist their children's spiritual journey.
The session will commence during the 10.30am Mass on Sunday 14th May 2023 and children will be taken together by the volunteers before the start of the first Reading.
Father will invite all the children and give them a blessing prior to leaving the church.
The session will start with the Children’s’ Liturgy which is the teaching and sharing of God’s word in a way that’s child friendly and understandable.
The Liturgy will be based on the Catholic Church calendar 2023.
There will be lots of singing, arts and crafts and more fun activities to participate in.
Active learning with participation from the children to lead prayers and discussions will help them develop that close relationship with God.
Who is it for?
Any child up to 13 years of age are welcome.
When will it start and when is it held?
We are hoping to start this ministry from the 2nd Sunday of May 2023 (14th May) and continue every 2nd Sunday of the month
Where will it be held?
It is planned for activities to be organized during the 10.30am Mass during the Liturgy and will be at the parish Office building hall.
Who is involved in the ministry?
We have a fantastic group of volunteers with the guidance from Fr Andrew from within the parish who have come forward to dedicate their time.
Some have been actively involved in children's ministries in the past.
All are parents with young growing families.
We have the full support of our Parish youth group LIFT who will also join to assist with the sessions.
Parents who attend mass are welcome to accompany their child if they are under 3 years of age.
All volunteers above the age of 18 will need a Working With Children and Police Check in order to comply with the current regulations for the volunteers in the Parish.
