Meet The Team

Fr. Greg Trythall


(Fr.) Greg Trythall grew up in the Footscray area and is glad to be back in the area as Parish Priest of St Mary's Williamstown. Before priesthood he was studying accountancy part time while working in the Taxation Department. After he was called up for 2 years National Service in the Australian army as a 20 year old he decided to train for the Catholic priesthood. He has been assistant priest at Seaford, Cheltenham, Airport West, Bentleigh and Clayton. He was Parish Priest of Grovedale and Torquay for 18 years and for the last 6 he was also Parish Priest of Anglesea. In April 2010 he became Parish Priest of Williamstown. (Fr) Greg enjoys a variety of interests and hobbies, although his real interest is sport and keeping healthy and enthusiastic for his job as a priest.

Sr. Patricia Stone 

Our present Pastoral Associate is Sr. Patricia Stone, a Sister of St Joseph, who is employed 3 days a week.

Her duties include:

  • Coordination of the Sacramental Programs with families and catechists for Reconciliation, First Eucharist, Confirmation;
  • Adult Education and Lenten programs;
  • Liaison with the School Staff;
  • Coordination of Communion rounds to the Sick and house-bound;
  • Visitations to the sick at home, hospital and nursing homes;
  • Helping with preparation of the Christmas and Holy Week ceremonies; and
  • Organising music for Sunday Masses.
